Dancenow|NYC's mission is to connect new audiences to dance and to support the artistic dreams and endeavors of innovative dancemakers through an extended relationship that will challenge their creative process and assist in moving their artistic careers forward.

Dancenow|NYC advocates the ‘short format' to encourage artists to create work that is far-reaching in its influences and effects, but marked by brevity and clarity in order to appeal to a broad audience. Programming a diverse genre of choreographic gems, side by side, in venues that offer audiences a dynamic cultural experience, Dancenow|NYC introduces audiences to what is ‘now' in dance, generating enthusiasm for the artform and connecting new audiences to dance.

Partnering with two preeminent arts organizations, Dance Theater Workshop and Joe's Pub at The Public Theater to enhance and further its services to today's dancemakers and their audiences, Dancenow|NYC fulfills its twofold mission by offering two unique performance series each year, The Festival (September) and its year-round extension, DancemOpolitan@Joe's Pub (September, December, March, June). Along with Dancenow|NYC's Silo Artist Residency, located on Kirkland Farm in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, these three programs work hand in hand to provide a comprehensive relationship that promotes and nurtures artists while offering new and fresh cultural experiences for today's audiences.
